    Job Type: Full-Time

    Hourly Base Pay: $16.00 per hour, PTO and other benefits

    Job Overview:

    This position is perfect for a person who loves connecting and communicating with other people, is excited by seasonal eating, has strong organizational skills and has personal style and flair.

    The Farm Market Lead position is a full-time position. The lead position will be responsible for the everyday setup and break down of the store. Duties will include assisting customers with check out, merchandising produce and other food products, restocking, unitizing products, packing orders, providing information about products to customers, and assisting marketing manager with social media work.

    Communication skills will be essential for this role. An ideal candidate will be outgoing and friendly towards all customers and possess a high level of knowledge about produce, local goods and artisanal foods. A high level of design and display aesthetics is also important for this role. The ideal candidate will want to work outdoors in an up-tempo, professional work environment. Owners and Management place a high-value on punctuality and follow through.

Crew Members must be committed to keeping work spaces tidy, learning quickly where things belong across the farm and properties and a willingness to improve organizational skills.

    Key Job Duties & Responsibilities:

    Operate POS system; coordinate and implement POS updates in conjunction with sales and marketing manager.

    Communicate clearly, effectively and succinctly with all customers.

    Communicate clearly, effectively and succinctly with other farm employees.

    Place orders with / update other crew members RE inventory and needs.

    Set up produce and other market displays on a daily basis with style.

    Break down, care for and put away perishable products.

    Clean and maintain the store.

    Harvest, wash, and pack produce.

    Inspect produce and bring quality issues to the attention of the manager.

    Follow all GAPs and/or food safety procedures.

    Verify that orders/items are packed correctly.

    Follow all written and verbal instructions as issued by business owners and managers.

    Perform all delivery duties to restaurants and wholesale customers without issue.

    Perform all duties related to farmers market sales including, prep, driving, market set up, merchandising, sales and arithmetic for making change.

    Key Requirements:

    Work outdoors in all seasons, weather and temperatures.

    Be 21 or older in order to legally sell beer and wine.

    Have legal work status.

    Ability to provide own transportation to and from work

    Valid NC drivers license and insurance, clear driving record for at least 3 years.

    Flexible schedule.

    Read, write and speak English.

    Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

    Ability to work as part of a team and take instructions from a leader.

    Ability to learn and improve work skill and speed rapidly in order to become a critical member of the team.

    Ability to think critically under pressure in order to increase effectiveness and task fulfillment.

    Strong organizational skills, ability to keep track of personal belongings as well as tools and objects provided by Fair Share Farm.

    Essential Physical Requirements:

    - Able to lift and carry up to 50lbs. to a height of 3 to 4 feet and then load weight onto shelves, benches, trucks or similar surfaces

    - Able to stand and/or walk during at least 100% of work day

    - Able to frequently stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl

    - Able to constantly use arms/hands/fingers to reach, handle or feel

    - Able to frequently move items on and off hand-trucks/dollies and push hand-trucks/dollies

    - Able to occasionally climb (stairs/ladders) and/or balance

    - Able to frequently hear

    - Able to occasionally talk to employer, co-workers, vendors, customers and members of the public

    - Able to work in unheated structures

    - Able to work outside, as needed, in all weather conditions

    - Able to breathe and come into skin contact with agricultural seeds, crops, soil, water, and chemicals utilized in organic agricultural practices

    Personal Qualifications Required:

    - Able to read, write, take notes in, and understand English

    - Able to perform simple mathematical computations

    - Able to make change at farmers’ market and farmstands.

    - Able to operate company cell phone APP to process credit card payments

    - Be a good listener

    - Be able to learn on the job

    - Must enjoy performing practical, manual and mechanical activities

    - Be willing to undertake manual and heavy labor

    - Must possess a responsible and positive attitude towards the performance of job duties, towards meeting expectations of and obligations employer, and towards interactions with customers and vendors

    Educational Level Required:

    Over 18 years old: High school diploma or equivalent

$16 Hourly with additional incentives
